Abstract

This chapter is devoted to entrepreneurship and its developments in Poland. The issues of growth and development perspectives of small business and their role in growth creation are discussed. It presents the Poland’s economic performance, the most important economic indicators, and the profile of the Polish small business sector. It also verifies whether the business environment is favorable and identifies the most important entrepreneurship constraints, including the small business barriers to the development. Polish entrepreneurship constitutes a specific combination of areas where the obtained results exceed the average as well as the areas in which the country significantly diverge from the EU average. Key determinants of small business development, the country’s competitive position, the business environment, as well as the support of the state initiatives contributing to further business development are discussed.
