Abstract

Hypoxia is failure in delivery of adequate amount to oxygen to the tissues. What is hypoxemia? Possible causes, symptoms, signs, and physiologic effects of hypoxia are discussed. The alveolar gas equation and its role if any in diagnosing the cause of hypoxia is also explained.
