Abstract
In this chapter, we provide several applications of fuzzy logic control (FLC) methods. We start with using DSP processor- based embedded system to generate PWM waveform needed to switch IPM DRIVE with the help of FLC to control the speed of DC motor fed by AC/DC (IPM) converter. It is crucial here to design the FLC as implemented on microcontroller and an inner ON/OFF current controller. The fuzzy speed controller has the purpose of changing the duty cycle of the (IPM) converter and thereby, the voltage fed to the DC motor regulates its speed. Next, we present a FLC digital simulation scheme to yield the smallest possible size of storage systems and to maintain the balance between generation and demand in a medium voltage level isolated power distribution system. The scheme is designed using MATLAB-Simulink environment to investigate the viability of having a relatively big scale penetration of PV generation system.
