Abstract

This chapter provides a brief overview of background of the legal status of the Nile water and the legal aspects of the Nile River; scope of the chapter focuses on the legal aspects of the Nile River, the Nile water treaties, treaties between U.K and the powers controlling the Nile Basin, the 1929 Nile waters agreement, agreements consolidating and supplementing the 1929 Agreement, state succession, state succession in the Nile Basin.
