Abstract

The author presents various types of tactics associated with the technique of Prof Pitanguy to correct breast ptosis. The main objective of such an approach is to have a final result that is more graceful and that has a longer effect. It is always good to alert the patients that although we use all the elements to maintain the result as long as possible, in some cases, this is not possible because other elements need to be added, such as skin elasticity and tone, breast parenchyma changes, etc., which definitely lead to a second intervention, usually after 2–5 years.

Discussion: Although various types of surgical approach have been described for the correction of breast ptosis, for about 20 years, we have been using the technique of Prof Pitanguy combine various surgical tactics, such as higher retail dermal belt, inverted suture, etc. With these maneuvers, a denser breast form (such as implants) and longer results can be obtained. The final result of this approach has satisfied patients and surgeons alike.

Complications: There are various complications that may occur in breast surgery (hematoma, seroma, infection, dehiscence, necrosis, etc.), but these are becoming less common and when seen, they are always noticed earlier and solved without permanent sequelae.

Acknowledgments

This work is the result of the teachings and publications that have been granted by Ivo Pitanguy and Ramil Sinder, teachers who taught us how to solve the issues of breast dysmorphia, showing that behind every case, there is a woman with distress, anxiety, and a perspective on the final results. Finally, we should point out that the patient’s expectations may not always can be fulfilled by the professional as they wish.To the teachers Ivo Pitanguy and Ramil Sinder, our eternal gratitude.
