Abstract
EIS is a well established technique for the characterisation of electrochemical devices. However, conventional EIS approaches have two main deficiencies: (i) a long measurement time due to usage of naïve excitation signals, for instance (multi-)sine signals, and (ii) suboptimal signal processing algorithms that provide only time averaged impedance values. These two deficiencies are the main limiting factors that diminish the applicability of the conventional EIS technique for online condition monitoring of electrochemical devices.
