Abstract

Inflammatory arthritis includes a group of systemic diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, juvenile idiopathic arthritis, adult Still’s disease, inflammatory bowel disease, ankylosing arthritis, systemic lupus and psoriatic arthritis. It is characterised by inflammation of the joints and is a common cause of severe hip involvement leading to THR. It affects young patients in the productive years of their life and usually involves multiple joints.
