Abstract
Visits to the hospitalized Syrian patients by the Arabic-speaking social worker are the main component in the psychological support at Ziv. The visits concentrate on assuring understanding by the patient of the injury and giving the patient information on the treatment plan and long-term effects. Patients most in need are given psychiatrist assessment and advice and drug treatment as necessary. The support takes into account the difficulty in advising mental health services on return to Syria.
