Abstract

Modern image-guidance tools and percutaneous techniques allow performance of minimally invasive, safe, and efficient spine biopsies, from the sacrum to the upper cervical spine. This chapter reviews indications, materials, and techniques to perform such procedures. Special emphasis is in imaging guidance principles and in the relevant anatomy and related technical tips for the different types of approach to the different regions of the spine.
