Abstract
In this book I will argue that the function of the words written by Plato is the epistemic stimulation of the readers. I will trace a new path of cognitive development which is forged together by the writer and the reader. This intellectual collaboration is at the base of a higher-order pedagogy which is astonishing for its modernity. Modern and contemporary sources taken from different disciplines will be used in this book not to claim that Plato could foresee these developments of the research but to help the modern reader to realize the intensity of a philosophical message which is still able in the twenty-first century to demonstrate its innovative character.
