Abstract
The nodo-venous shunt for lymphedema was done in the year 1966 by Dr. Nilubeur Olszewski, as a side-to-side anastomoses, and published. This was done for a case of filarial lymphedema, at the Government General Hospital, Chennai, in the year 1969, by Prof. Nanjund Rao. This was popularized by Prof. Jamal in 1971. We modified this technique to an end-to-end nodo-venous anastomoses, which have been illustrated and explained in the text.
