Abstract
This chapter analyses the ENT consultation to ensure that the clinician explores all relevant avenues that help lead to the correct diagnosis. Many clinicians utilise consultation models to help structure the consultation. Within the ENT consultation, the clinician should ascertain the history of the presenting complaint (onset, frequency, duration), past medical history, drug history and social history.
