Abstract

A detailed comparison of several vehicle systems is presented with emphasis on public transit applications. A plug-in series CNG-electric hybrid (SHEV), a battery-powered electric vehicle (BEV), and an electric vehicle (EV) with OLEV bus are compared and analyzed in terms of their overall operational energy efficiency and competitiveness.
