Abstract
The application of the New York Convention in Mexico has been generally positive. It is generally made not directly but through interpretation and application of the Commercial Code provisions that implemented the Convention. The biggest difficulty that the application of the Convention entails in Mexico has to do with the lack of full and accurate understanding of its content on the part of courts and litigators. In any event, case law interpreting the Convention’s provisions is very scarce in Mexico.
