Abstract

With the popularization of the Internet, more and more people have enjoyed the convenience and fastness of the information age. Through the Internet, not only can young people do activities like social networking, entertainment and shopping, but elderly people can also get more life conveniences, and enrich their spiritual life. In order to grasp the relationship between the status of Internet usage among elderly people in urban communities and the degree of elderly life satisfaction in the network era, a random sampling survey is conducted on Internet usage status of elderly people in Xi’an’s different communities. The correlation of Internet usage status and degree of elderly life satisfaction are analyzed by Logistic regression using “SPSS”; and comprehensive evaluation and comparison are made between “intra-network” and “extra-network” elderly activities by Likert scale and AHP. Results find that the “Internet”, as an important infrastructure, can effectively remedy the current prevailing problem of inadequate community eldercare service facilities. Elderly support by means of “Internet” will become an inevitable development trend of modern society.
