Abstract
A 75-year-old male was addressed to the outpatient cardiac rehabilitation clinic for a supervised exercise training programme and risk factor intervention due to symptoms of intermittent claudication. He is known for bilateral peripheral artery disease (PAD) stage II according to the Fontaine classification (cf. Table 15.1) for 3 years due to a high-grade stenosis of the arteria femoralis superficialis on the left side, treated conservatively until now. Initially, symptoms were present on the left side only, but 1 year ago, they appeared also at the right side, where they actually predominate.
