Abstract
Ornette D. Clennon gives an overview of C.L.R. James’ polemical contributions and their contemporary relevance for black community activism. Clennon outlines his personal developmental process of engaging with James’ theoretical frameworks and, using a version of the Socratic method, creatively frames his scholar-activism in South Manchester with James’ own activism and intellectual work.
