In 1928 an American physicist Langmuir described plasma as the gas state which besides neutral atoms and molecules contains positive and negative particles, ions and electrons. Plasma does not follow the conventional laws of thermodynamics therefore was regarded by a number of scientists as the fourth state of matter differing from solid, liquid, and gas phases. Plasma state often occurs in the nature. In the Sun eruption the ejected plasma clouds consist of nuclei of hydrogen atoms and of electrons.
