Abstract

In this case of a young woman with body dysmorphic disorder (BDD), a condition characterized by extreme preoccupation with certain aspects of appearance, the overlap and differentiation between BDD and feeding and eating disorders are reviewed. Evaluation and management principles related to BDD are described. Changes in the categorization of this disorder in DSM-5 are discussed.
