Atlas of Robotic Urologic Surgery

Abstract

More than 80% of radical prostatectomies in the United States are performed with robotic assistance. The feasibility and safety of the procedure has been well documented. As more RALPs are performed, procedural difficulties will be more widely encountered and, hopefully, better understood. Surgeons may face challenges during any step of robot-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy. In this chapter, we discuss the commonly encountered difficulties during this procedure.
