Abstract

This chapter is all about the consideration of diversity and inclusion from the perspective of a practitioner within an internationally leading corporation in brands and technology. Starting with a conceptual view on the diversity and inclusion model in a business context, the second section is about an evolutional development of the diversity and inclusion concept after its introduction to the company. The final sections focus on hands-on experiences from Henkel practicing diversity and inclusion and the introduction of the unconscious bias concept as a decisive complement of the inclusion aspect.

This chapter is based on the German case study “Wertschöpfung durch Wertschätzung.” The author summarizes this publication of hers and comments on it from a today’s perspective (see Bosten 2014).
