Abstract

Through a number of anthropologic and ethnographic studies, this study explores modern romantic love in Latin America. It highlights the influences of historical cultures native to the regions discussed as well as Western cultural influences. This chapter shows the cultural mix of not only the people that call the countries of Latin America home, but also the conceptions of romantic love. In this analysis, this chapter highlights research from Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, and Nicaragua.
