Abstract
The introduction presents the central argument that Christian formation is multidimensional in nature, which has been overlooked in the scholarly literature. The pneumatological, theological, and historical foundations for Christian formation locate in a discussion of the imago Dei (Lat. image of God), underscoring the multidisciplinary nature of the Holy Spirit’s work within and the love of God. The introduction then offers a brief overview of each of the authors’ chapters that frames a robust trajectory clustered around the book’s three sections: (1) Interdisciplinary Perspectives—three chapters, (2) Theological Perspectives—three chapters, and (3) Practice-oriented Perspectives—four chapters.
