Abstract
A case of posterior cortical atrophy (PCA) is presented as a variant of Alzheimer´s dementia (AD). This case illustrates problems in differentiating early-onset neurodegenerative disorders. While the diagnosis of AD frightened the patient, the more precise diagnosis of PCA established a perspective to better cope with the disease.
