Abstract
This chapter reviews the meaning of the term scientific rigor, which is best understood as the context of a number of strict and consistent rules. Examples of global research will used to review the principles of the trial protocol, different types of protocols. Observational research include case-control studies, cohort studies, as well as other forms of observational studies.
The differences between odds ratio and risk ratio are hard to understand, but they are a principle requirement for understanding observational research. Randomized research is for experimental, rather than observational research. This chapter will end up with rules for making a data file, dependent on the type of variables in the study.
