Abstract
In this chapter we are going to first of all analyze the beauty concepts we are trying to achieve. Then we will focus on the functional anatomy as well as the forces we need to manipulate in order to shape the abdomen to obtain the desired outcome. In order to mimic this ideal anatomy and to create a beautiful abdominoplasty result, we should fulfill the following basic aesthetic goals:1. Coke-bottle shape with bilateral grooves2. Rectus muscle eminence3. Recreating linea albaThe surgical maneuvers necessary to achieve these goals will be discussed in details. The inverse approach described here is meant to fulfill all the criteria above. This technique eases the procedure immensely, shortens the dissection time and length, reduces the duration of the procedure and dismisses the need of a possible vertical scar for skin closure. Most importantly, an aesthetically supreme waist definition, a more muscly appearance due to false rectus folds, and a better reverse lifting of the groin is obtained.
