Handbook of Ratings

Abstract

Ratings in the public life at the supranational level are discussed. At least 100 organizations of all kinds are monitoring supranational level ratings. The United Nations Human Development Index is of major importance for the society. Other “happiness” ratings of different nations compete with it by using a higher number of vitally significant indices. Reciprocal correlation of indices and the non-linear interaction between them are the main problem. Ratings of economic power of different countries are yet another direction.
