Abstract
This book attempts to explore some of the key elements that transform a healthy and active mind into a world of darkness and lost awareness. This is the world of Alzheimer’s disease. Since no cure is unlikely to be discovered in the future due to the destruction of the cognitive-related neural networks, Alzheimer’s must be thwarted by targeting two fronts: first, by creating highly effective diagnostic centers (Heart-Brain Clinics, see Chap. 16) that can detect the earliest signs and risk factors prior to advanced cognitive impairment and potential transformation to Alzheimer onset and second, by applying current preventive interventions and developing new interventions based on the database collected from the clinical findings obtained in the diagnostic centers.
