Abstract
One of the most intriguing science stories that I have heard is the Story of Science by Michael Mosely as a BBC TV production under the same title. In a part of the story he recognizes the lifelong collected data about the locations and movements of stars and planets in the sky by a Danish astronomer with the name of Tycho Brahe in late 1500s and early stages of 1600s as the main source of the great German mathematician Kepler’s mathematical findings about the planetary movement of the known universe of their time. The story more evolves as the great Italian renaissance-man Galileo invents the first telescope and verifies the findings of Tycho Brahe and Kepler with a much closer look into the sky. Finally Newton the British father of the industrial ages put an exclamation point at the end of these findings by developing his famous planetary gravitation law which has been the major source for many of the scientific findings in its following 350 years. Such stories not only show the historic importance of collection of good raw data, even though at the time people may do not recognize how to make sense of that, but also prevails the need for some appropriate tools for drawing patterns and analyzing this data for developing rules and laws to advance and ease our understanding of any phenomenon.
