Abstract
Road transportation has big influence on economy, social life and environment of every country. Growing complexity of urban transport networks creates a challenge in managing transport operation in the cities. Problems with traffic monitoring, estimation and control are often solved with the help of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITSs) and Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs). ITSs combine advanced technologies using real-time information regarding roadway conditions in order to apply appropriate strategies for control.
