Abstract

The death of massive stars is briefly described as an introduction to this chapter. The rare instances of this phenomenon are the reason there are very few examples for amateur study. Nevertheless, objects commonly available to astronomers equipped with modest ‘scopes are described and documented. Photographic illustrations and finder charts are also supplied.
