Abstract
The new probe technology is applied to calculate for a given sound path and a given side-drilled hole diameter an equivalent flat-bottomed hole diameter. The term equivalent diameters is used when both holes are generating the same amplitude at the given sound path. This method can be applied vice versa calculating a side-drilled hole from a given flat-bottomed hole.
