Abstract
It’s going to be assumed that you are using a camera with a CCD (or CMOS) chip, i.e., a sensor with 2-D array of photosensitive elements (pixels). This includes just about anything from a Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera to the many commercially produced cameras made specifically for astronomical imaging. Even if you’re using a single channel (one pixel) solid state detector or a photomultiplier tube (PMT), the photometry concepts don’t change. However, you won’t find details on the design, construction, or basic parameters of those types of measuring devices.
