Dupuytren Disease and Related Diseases - The Cutting Edge

Abstract

The International Dupuytren Data Bank (IDDB) is a large longitudinal research study of the natural history and laboratory profile of Dupuytren disease. The goal of the IDDB is to create the scientific foundation to logically develop targeted molecular therapy for Dupuytren disease and related conditions. Unlike the majority of prior Dupuytren research, which has focused on technical aspects of procedures for deformity, the IDDB uses chronic disease research methods. The IDDB model is to study the natural history of disease, identify biomarkers of disease subsets, and identify molecular targets to develop disease-modifying biologic treatment to reduce the need for Dupuytren procedures and to reduce comorbidity of all Dupuytren-related conditions.
