Abstract

Here we present a brief account of the principles underlying the original method of biochemical synthesis based on the reduction of metal ions with natural flavonoids in reverse micelles. The necessary information on the peculiarities of experimental procedure is given. Synthesis of silver, gold and copper nanoparticles in reverse micelles formed from synthetic surfactant (AOT) is further described, illustrated by the photographs of nanoparticle solutions and the relevant data on the optical spectra and particle sizes.
