Abstract

This paper will present the topics and methods which are used in the graduate level digital signal processing and dynamic measurements course (ME5700) at Michigan Technological University. How topics such as the FFT, order tracking, leakage, …etc. are taught will be discussed. Differences in how the course is taught relative to the number of students in the course will also be discussed, large numbers of students require a different teaching approach than just a few students! The author has been teaching this course for over 10 years and will share various other insights as to the most effective way to present these topics to a variety of students with a diverse background.
