Abstract

In the paper, GaAs based thin film solar-cells, combining 2D-Photonic Crystals (PhC) as diffraction-grating with either metallic or Distribute Bragg Reflector (DBR) as specular reflectors and also as single back-reflector for light trapping , have been optimized and compared. The results have shown that PhC diffraction-gratings with DBR as specular reflector outperforms others.
