Abstract

The incidence of periprosthetic knee fractures is increasing and will inevitably rise due to the increased number of total knee arthroplasties (TKA) and patients’ life expectancy [1]. The total incidence of periprosthetic knee fractures ranges from 0.3 to 5.5 % for primary TKA and up to 30 % for revision TKA [2–5].
