Abstract

Tibial intercondylar eminence fractures are relatively rare and occur with an estimated incidence of 3 in 100,000 people every year. These injuries are much less common than intrasubstance tears of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), especially in adults. Tibial spine fractures represent a difficult problem but are important to recognize and manage appropriately. This chapter discusses non-operative and operative management of these injuries, as well as patient outcomes and potential complications of treatment. Surgical technique, using open and arthroscopic methods with both screw and suture fixation, is also described.
