Abstract

This 31-year-old patient had subglandular breast augmentation with 360 mL textured silicone implants in 2004. The patient complains of altered shape and hardness of right breast and that the implants are too large. On examination, she had grade 3 capsular contracture on the right. Planned were excision of inframammary scars, bilateral explantation, right capsulectomy, creation of new retropectoral pockets and insertion of slightly smaller, higher-profile hence narrower, smooth, form-stable, gel implants. The Group discussed capsulectomy, subglandular versus subpectoral pockets, capsulectomy and smaller implants.
