Abstract

ECOWAS law empowers the Community Court to entertain actions filed by parties that have chosen the Court as their forum for settlement of disputes arising from agreements. This jurisdiction of the Community Court to hear selected-forum cases covers commercial and non-commercial relations. ECOWAS law has also procedural space for members of staff of any of the institutions of the Community to bring actions that pertain to their employment contracts. Summarily, this chapter explores these two disparate procedures as provided under Article 9 of the Protocol Relating to the Community Court of Justice.
