Abstract
Ultrasound systems are very sophisticated machines and their setup requires deep technical experience. However, in daily practice, there is a relatively small number of commands and tools that can be used to optimize the ultrasound scan. In this chapter, the use of some commands of the most diffused ultrasound system is explained.
Interpretation of gray-scale ultrasound images is based on the basic knowledge of the appearance of the single tissue, which should be reported with correct terms. In this chapter, the meaning of echogenicity and echotexture is explained.
