Effective Theory at the Weak-Scale

Abstract

Having established in the previous chapter ingredients for general construction of heavy particle Lagrangians, we may now proceed to use heavy-particle methods to efficiently describe the interactions of a WIMP, of mass M, with much lighter Standard Model degrees of freedom such as those of n f  = 5 flavor QCD (in the case m b  ≪ M, where m b is the bottom quark mass) or those of the electroweak sector (in the case m W  ≪ M, where m W is the W± boson mass).
