Vibrons and Polarons

Abstract

Vibrons and electron-vibron interactions are introduced. Basic electron-vibron phenomena, electron tunneling spectroscopy and the Persson-Baratoff model of inelastic STM spectroscopy are presented. The polaron model and the master equation for sequential tunneling are discussed.
