Abstract
This paper proposes a spectral-domain formulation of the electromagnetic scattering from a defected periodic cylinder array embedded in dielectric slab. The present formulation is based on the pseudo-periodic Fourier transform (PPFT), which makes it possible to apply the conventional grating formulations to the problems of imperfectly periodic structures. The formulation is also based on the recursive transition-matrix algorithm with the lattice sums technique, which is widely used for the problems of periodic cylinder array.
