Abstract

This chapter focuses on one-dimensional boundary value problems. Key concepts like maximum principles, comparison principles and infinite series solutions are introduced in a one-dimensional setting. This chapter establishes the theoretical framework that is used to establish the well-posedness of PDE problems in later chapters.
