Abstract
The term “Asian Century” originated around the time the Chinese Premier Deng Xiaoping and Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi met in 1988. It has been widely used in the media to portray the projected dominance of the Asian economy, culture and politics in the twenty-first century. The definition of Asia varies but it includes China, India, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and 40 more others countries. China and India have shown and are expected to drive the Asian century. Both these countries have an abundance of labour and a very strong work ethic. They have 35 % of worlds’ 6.5 billion population, and Asia is estimated to have about 60 % of the world population.
