Abstract

LEO Computers was one of the earliest British computer companies when it was founded by J. Lyons and Co. in 1954. The company designed and manufactured the LEO I, LEO II and LEO III business computers which were mainly used for business applications such as valuation, payroll and inventory. LEO later became part of English Electric LEO Marconi (EELM), and this company became part of International Computers Ltd. (ICL) in 1968.
