Abstract

In direction of arrival (DOA) estimation, the single small aperture subarray is hard to meet the requirement of the accuracy for multiple targets, a new method for wideband signals based on multiple small aperture subarrays is proposed to this problem. First, the signals of every frequency are focused, then a modified minimum variance estimator (MVM) is employed for DOA estimation, the method doesn’t need the accurate position information among each subarray, consequently the error caused by position perturbation is avoided, and it has a preferable robustness to gain and phase intersubarray distortions, the performance has been proved by simulation results at last.
