The Asteroid Belt
While asteroids are not moons, they share certain characteristics. The main asteroid belt is a region between Mars and Jupiter where the majority of the asteroids in the solar system are located. It is also a region which is commonly misunderstood. People hear “asteroid belt” and often thinks of a Star Wars-style region with fields of asteroids thick as the hair on a dog. This is not the case. If you were in the asteroid belt, you might not even know it since much the zone is only sparsely populated. There are asteroids here, but on the whole they are few and far between.
